The Paranoid Parents Seal of Approval Project helps parents identify products that are truly safe and healthy for their children.
The FDA is working on methods of clearer labeling but those will take years if ever to implement. State government health departments have clear and reasonable safety standards they would like to be implemented. Paranoid Parents is identifying healthy food products and safe children’s toys that are produced to these fair and reasonable standards.
Companies that voluntarily adhere to these higher standards need an external recognition from a not-for-profit organization—Paranoid Parents is taking on that responsibility.
This is a not-for-profit aspect of the Paranoid Parents company and receives no sponsorship funds from manufacturers or marketing companies.
We are currently putting the final touches on the toy standards code. The Nutritional formula is already available on our website.
Paranoid Parents Seal of Approval Mission:
- To stop misleading advertising especially in the area of children’s products.
- To distinguish truly exceptional children’s products from the mediocre.
- To make nutrition and safety choices simple for the consumer.
We are honored to have a board of international experts to consult to make sure we have selected recognized standards for our guidelines.
Standards for healthy and safe children’s products are already implemented in most countries, but not in the United States because of the strength of corporations and lobbyists. European White Paper guidelines exist for the nutritional content of food. Quality control in the production and design of toys is higher in some countries than in the U.S. It’s unfortunate that parenting ‘paranoia’ doesn’t always extend to regulatory agencies and retail store shelves when it comes to children’s products.
