The Worry Box, The Comment Box–Let Your School Hear Your Questions, Comments and Concerns–the New Discussion Place for Parents, Teachers and Principals

The Worry Box. Questions, Comments and Concerns Box. Discussion Box. Facts and Fears Box. Worry Box.

Does your school have one? Many schools have a box where parents and teachers can offer concerns, praise, ask questions, demand action anonymously which the principal, PTA or school board can respond to. But often it is just too much work for the principal who is swamped with budgetary, education and student welfare issues.

What worries you about your school? What do you love about your school?

We parents would like to fix everything for our kids. We are Super Moms and Super Dads. But not everything we hear about or see in the media or that we research is likely to happen to our child. Different demographics have different problems but in our desire to fix everything, we parents can miss the problems our children are likely to face.

Principals, head masters, head mistresses and college admissions people have emailed me, cornered me personally, phoned me to help answer many parents concerns with facts on what does happen to kids, not everything that can happen. And parents need to voice concerns to principals and staff about issues that need addressing.

So Paranoid Parents has launched The Talk Box to take parents anonymous questions to their principals and parent teacher associations and provide the facts to help with decision-making. Facts appropriate to the demographic are what Paranoid Parents concentrates and not what has happened somewhere in America. What is likely to be relevant to your child, in your area.

Paranoid Parents uses government statistics and assessments from the established experts to take out the ‘fear’ element and look at the facts that should be behind our decision making.

For example, we parents worry about school shooters–it happens but how often?
We parents often worry about standardized testing and drops in scores–what are the best recent findings on how to interpret student test scores FOR YOUR DEMOGRAPHIC.
What kids are high risk for bullying?

Dr Ned Calonge, former Chief Medical Officer of Colorado and active on many national safety commission for child safety, has said “There’s a lot of great information out there that just isn’t getting to parents. We love Paranoid Parents because it gets the facts to parents in a meaningful but entertaining way.”
